Today 7-11 was giving away Slurpees for FREE. I had one! Mountain Dew Slurpee. I got hyper. Then I ate f00d and lost all the sugar and caffeine from that. Now I'm not hyper. (much.)

Changing the world?

Not bad! But not as good as the last one.

Oh, I forgot to answer this question awhile back.
TaB.
It's a soda. It's a 0-calorie cola made by the Coca Cola company. It was invented IIRC in the 60's as a response to the dieting craze. Originally, it had one calorie. It remained a very popular "diet" beverage during the 60s and 70s and even into the 80s. It started to lose popularity as more varietys of diet drinks hit the market, in fact from my recollection TaB started declining about the same time Diet Dr. Pepper started getting popular, but that could just be coincidence (altho my mom used to drink TaB, and now she drinks Diet Dr. Pepper.)

Anyway, round about the mid 80's or so, it became evident that the only people still drinking TaB were the people who LIKED it. So, when all the new artificial sweeteners (aspartame etc) came out, all the other names almost immediately switched. Because of the warning that one had to put on anything sweetened with saccharin: Warning: Saccharin has been shown to cause cancer in laboratory animals. (for more on saccharin and possible dangers, check Wiki, I'm no expert ;D )

TaB was one of the last brands to use exclusively saccharin as the sweetener. Because they knew the taste was what was keeping it around. It currently has on the label "calcium saccharin", which I have no idea what that is, but also "aspartame", which is the last ingredient listed (and thus the least amount). I have no idea if this is significant, but the taste has not changed enough for me to notice. It is the only beverage with Aspartame that doesn't taste "funny" to me. It's not particularly sweet, but it's got a hint of cinammon amongst the cola flavor, and I think that's what makes it the awesome. Especially for a "diet" soda.

But nobody drinks TaB for the diet properties anymore. Those of us who drink TaB? We LOVE TaB. As for me? I also love Hamada ;D
I'm not insanedrop trou!

I wish Houston had 7-11s; I have one on my college campus and I always get uber cheap coffee from it. Their slurpees are to die for too. ;;

I've never tried TaB before, but I wasn't even aware of it till I saw a commercial for it in movie previews. I thought it was a new energy drink aimed at women till I was corrected. >_>

Oh, that's Tab Energy or something. It's a different beverage. Tab soda is the one that has been around forever; Tab Energy (or whatever it's called) *is* a energy drink aimed at women. I don't like it. But it's based off the original Tab concept.

Wha -- Houston doesn't have 7-11s?? Frlz? I don't recall ever seeing one (my grandparents used to live there) but I didn't know there was none whatsoever! That's ... kinda scary.

Oh ok. XD; I was talking to my mother about it and she said it was the same thing.

Yea for some reason we have places like "Stop N Go" instead of 7-11. Maybe they don't want to bother to extend as far south as Houston. I wish they would though. >_>

Oooh! So that is what TaB is. Thank you for explaining it to me. Does TaB stand for anything or is it just TaB? OH! And I also want to ask the same thing about Ookiku Furikabutte. Does "Ookiku Furikabutte" mean anything? *is dumb* ^^;;

LOL, and does Hamada drink TaB? :D

Tab doesn't stand for anything. Originally they thought of the name in some d00fy way, but I forgot it now. It's very mundane, how they thought of that.

Ookiku furikabutte does mean something, but I'll be damned if I could possibly put it in English so that it's an actual translation and makes sense... lesse...
OK, listen, this is important. I'll get back to you on that when I can think of an acceptable translation that isn't retarded... but right now,
EP 14. NEW OP/ED.

Grand Slam. That's how I would call the manga if it was up to me to name the English version. I'm not sure if that's what is meant by "ookiku furikabutte" or not, but I think it's an acceptable baseball-word interpretation in the spirit of that title.

Well, you couldn't take "Ookiku" and say it meant "Grand" (well, you could..) and then say "Furikabutte" and say it meant "Slam" (you could not), but the title is kindof in the same kind of spirit. (ookiku is like... adverbial form of "big" or even "grand" in this case, furikabutte is like... swinging around? something like that, but sortof implying swinging of the bat? So, since it's baseball, I think 'Grand Slam' fits pretty well. Even tho as a tennis player 'Grand Slam' means something completely different ^^ )

There are people who are much better translators than me, if you wanted something a little more clear as to the meaning of the title ^^;;;;

Nah, if you say it is Grand Slam then it is Grand Slam. Again, thanks for humoring me. :)
