[I'm all | iiyasousou!]

OK, liek, I know I can sorta read Japanese and stuff, but I can't make my own sentences to save my life. (OK maybe to save my life, cuz that sentence goes like this TASUKETEKURE!!!!!)

So, I'm like, wanting to post a comment to someone in a forum, but, get this, I don't even know the best way to say "Sorry for my crappy Japanese skills". (You'd be surprised how often this NEVAR comes up in Japanese manga or music ¬¬ )

So, like, if anyone has a good suggestion for that, I dont' mind making crappy sentences, but I'd at least like to have a halfway decent apology for them ^^

Anyway, I have something good. It's an Okinawan band, using Okinawan instruments (sanshin, meaning 3-stringed okinawan instrument, not meaning strikeout, sports fans) and this particular song includes my favorite Okinawan thingy.... that I don't really know how to describe, but it goes "II-YA-SOU-SOU". Anyway, I used to live there, did you know? Anyway, Orange Range go "Iiyasousou" a lot, too. And it's in the TeniPuri Higa-chuu songs, too. So is the sanshin. It sounds so cool, I wish I had one.

The band is called Yanawaraba (Okinawa dialect meaning "mischievous children", got that from their website, not from any knowledge of my own) and the song is called Uta no Shima (Island of Songs? Song Island? Ugh both of those sound retarded.)

Yanawaraba - Uta no Shima

OK, I always feel lke a COMPLETE MORON when I do this, but I transcribed the lyrics by ear (cuz they sing really clearly). I probably missed A TON of stuff, but there's no point really, I mean, if you were gonna karaoke, and you sang these words? You'd get a good score (but there's no telling if people would understand you.)

Hrm, did that word "sanshin" get you all excited about baseball? Well, then, how about these artists:

Oda Kazumasu - Kokoro soft pop-R&B song by some guy named Oda ;D

Hamada Akiko - yoo roo pretty cool pop-rock-acoustic tune by GO!GO!7188's Akiko who happens to have the same surname as my favorite character ;D

Abe Natsumi - THE STRESS (shakabone HIDE remix) Upbeat danceable cover featuring some guy that sounds cool but I've never heard of, from Hello!Project superstar and ex-plagiarist Abe Natsumi aka Nacchi.

Wada Akiko - Furui Nikki (Home Grown remix) Dancehall supergroup (IMO) Home Grown's take on LEGENDARY singer Wada Akiko's classic, which may or may not be romanized correctly.

I think that's all the Oofuri-named artists I have right now. Since I got most of these from an English-language site, I have no idea if the names are spelled the same or not (except Wada Akiko, it's the same, I have that album). Oh, also, one of those Okinawan girls? Her name REALLY IS RIO. Like that, no -u, Rio. And... she ... dances on the sand? *failure*

(but yeah, any suggestions on the best way to say "Sorry for my crappy Japanese skills"?)

I'm not insanedrop trou!

「日本語が下手ですが...」 or 「日本語が下手ですみません」? The latter one kind of sounds as if you were apologizing for being alive, but maybe it's just me. xD;

I hope sendspace keeps the music up until I come back.

OK, I thought something like that, but I was afraid I would end up making it sound like I was insulting someone else ^^ THANKS!! ^__^

Ooh, yikes. I hate the dentist. (Not on a personal level, I'm sure he's a perfectly nice fellow, but... yeah.) I hope you come back with no cavities!!

LOL! I know what you mean. My dentist is a pretty nice person, but I don't like how she keeps messing with my mouth. I don't have any cavities, but apparently my teeth were pretty dirty because I haven't been flossing enough. ^^;;

THEY ALL TELL YOU THAT!!! The first time I went to the dentist I have now, I flat-out told him there wasn't much chance of me flossing more so there was no point in scolding me for it. And they've yet to scold me ^^ (but I'm sure they all say it behind my back. "Oh, if only she'd floss more!")
