My weekend, in cartoons and comics [Feb. 23rd, 2004|10:05 am]

[I'm all | guhhhhhh!]

And fanfic. I still haven't watched the Kenshin OVAs yet. But I did watch all of season 1 of Transformers! It was so great. But it only leaves me wanting more (seasons 2 & 3 + movie would be nice). I'm still working on the Megatron/Starscream fic. I'll post it when I'm done, as always.

I watched episode 20 of Full Metal Alchemist yesterday. It was in Japanese, but I could tell what was going on. It really does redefine the angst genre. Les Mis has nothin on this. The guy with the skull mask who goes out to fight Al, he used to be Barry the Chopper or whatever, from the other episode whenever Winry first visits them. He ends up telling Al that a spirit transmuted to a suit of armor is not a human being. So now, Al's all NOOOOOOOO!!! I can't wait til the next episode. And to see this episode subbed, so I get *all* the plot details. Barry's an impolite character. Al is supposed to be like, 14 or so, right? Surely his voice should be changing already. Or maybe since he doesn't have a body, he doesn't go through puberty, so he keeps the same voice forever. It makes it extra poignant that he talks like he's 9 years old. I love how he makes faces in his suit of armor.

Another show I started watching this weekend was Matantei Loki Ragnarok. It's very odd, a little too high-school for me, but I do have a fascination with Norse mythology so I keep watching. The main character, Mayura, she keeps saying "Fushigi mysteriiiiii!" in a high-pitched voice. It's burned into my mind.

But not as much as the 2nd op theme for FMA. Ready, steady, go! Please trust me! Must acquire mp3.

I read a fanfic yesterday, a Lupin III fanfic, where it was Lupin and Zenigata gettin it on. It was very unrealistic as far as the description of the 'it', but it was like they were really in love and stuff. It was funny, and oddly sweet. But it was gooey.

And speaking of gooey, my doujinshis shipped this morning from Japan. Which I guess is last night my time. I don't know what actual time it was, but the email was in my inbox when I woke up this morning. I didn't have time to read it or anything.

One time, i looked at so much DBZ hentai that when I watched the show, my mind interpreted all of the characters as being naked. But after that, I had lots of garbage adware and shit on my PC, from going to H sites. I won't make that mistake again.

I feel like there was something else I watched a lot of, but I forgot now.

I'm not insanedrop trou!

The yaoi fic that ruined me for all yaoi fics ever was a deliciously steamy 1x2 called "Skipping the Bitch's Party", supposedly written by a guy. I think I showed it to you once, way back, when it was still on fanfiction.net... I've never really liked Duo-uke, but this fic manages to keep canon personalities relatively well. Nearly everything else I've read seems stilted and amateurish by comparison, though I have read some good touya/yukito...

Yeah I think that's one of the better ones I've ever read. Here's one of the few times I'm going to get to say this and not be mortally embarrassed and/or severely injured, but sometimes I just want to yell at the writers "AN ASS IS NOT A VAGINA!!!!"
