| This week's FMA (ep 26)

OK, what the hell was that? I mean, besides 2 minutes of series plot surrounded by 22 minutes of yawn-fest. I expect episode 26s to be intense. |
Do the Elrics even know what happened in ep 25? They seem awfully upbeat if they do. I guess major Winry fans might have thought this episode was cool, but seriously, nothing happened! We barely learned anything about the series plot, and there was almost no chardev except for the one random character that was introduced this ep, who I don't give a shit about because I know we'll never see her again outside of Rush Valley! And who friggin cares about Rush Valley! Everyone's all agog about Sensei, but unless Sensei has something to do with the main series plot, it's just added fanservice fluff.
See, I have this major problem with long series for precisely these reasons. Extraneous episodes that provide no plot value whatsoever and not even enough fanservice to make it worthwhile to watch. The Black Hayate episode had enough fanservice to make it fun and interesting, plus provide a bit of plot, but damn, ep 26 is like, nowhere.
Again, I am going to refuse the manga until either the end of the anime, or it is licensed and published in English, whichever comes first. I see this show as a work of art in itself, based on the books, sure, but a work in and of itself. And episode 26 cheapens the entire series.
There better be some damn good anime-plot reasons for Sensei to show up, or I'm going to end up not watching the rest of the episodes.
