Shinji had a whole album of leaving them out, so I understand where they're coming from ;D

VIZ making Tachibana = Kippei isn't nearly as painful or shocking as Akaya walking into Seigaku going "HEY, YOU'RE KUNIMITSU!" ;__;

(but, in their defense, US manga are printed on large lovely easy-to-scan paper rather than tiny little books of newsprint...)

As usual, if it weren't for you I wouldn't know of any release. Kamio and Tachibana is a COOL duet! I used to ship them... I don't remember, is the Higa CD one in which all the members take part?

The only think I pay attention to in rl tennis is Nadal, how he's doing, because he's always on the front page of the Spanish newspapers online.

The Higa cd is going to be an album, and as far as I could tell, the description said "Higa-chuu takes on the renowned music of Okinawa", and the track list was up the other day and there's at least one song for each guy, I forgot what the 6th one is if it's a group thing or Shiranui or whoever XD

I have to make a bunch of pictures of Hamada from Oofuri 58, and I'm a little busy until Thursday, so it may be extra late ^^;; HAMADA PWND THE CHAPTER, THO, REGARDLESS OF HOW CUTE HANAI IS BEING.

Another Spaniard was doing awesome in this year's Wimbledon, Feliciano Lopez! He's out now, but he made a good run and he seems to be really coming up this year all of a sudden. He's interesting because of all the tennis players I've seen interviews with, he's the one that most closely resembles Ibu Shinji as far as personality! But he is also beautiful, so I refer to him as Ibu Shinji XD

I tend to forget to share this because I'm not going to buy Atobe's things, but he's got a birthday single and a re-release of Hametsu-e-no-rondo coming out in October. I think it said the album will have bonus tracks, or bonus talk time, or something... I forgot ^^;;

(the voice actor's voice grates on my nerves like nails on a blackboard, that's why I don't buy Atobe music)

Really? Well, I know we don't agree in several musical things, but I'd say he has a great voice. It is funny to find someone who disagrees!! ^__^ Usually everybody is crazy, orgasmic about Jun'ichi Suwabe.

I hope his birthday single is crackstastic, those are his best!

When I first heard him on Fullmetal Alchemist, I thought Suwabe's voice was sexy, but then it started to grate on my nerves. I think it was after I started watching PoT, and then I tried watching something else he was in, and he was the main villain in that and it was actually unwatchable for me because I wanted that guy to shut the hell up XD

(doesn't help, either, that I think Atobe the character is a misogynist, so I'm just not inclined to even attempt to get over my hatred of the voice....)

Well, I have this habit of making manga canon. Like, in my mind, manga is the only canon. And in the manga, he's always said something nasty to or about girls. Even in 20.5 when Konomi is trying to justify the Ann-manhandling incident, he says something (I've forgotten exactly what it was now) degrading. The way he said it is one of those things that may not sound degrading in Japanese, or in other cultures, but it is in mine.

When I first started watching the anime, I was looking forward to Atobe's appearance, because Suwabe was the voice of one of my favorite FMA charas, and I was trying really hard to justify the Ann incident when I saw it, but you know, if I saw some guy doing that in real life? I'd call the cops.

But I can see how in a culture where a kancho gets you nothing more than a technical foul that maybe grabbing girls by the arm and saying "You're going on a date with us!" isn't sekuhara...

Also, I think Konomi meant it that way. Ryouma has served hard justice to every opponent who was horrible to women, and he served the hardest (and funniest) justice to Atobe. I don't know if it's because he heard Atobe's "mesuneko" comment to "that girl" or because of the An incident, but that's how the manga has gone. Mean to girls = Ryouma's SWIFT JUSTICE. (lol)

And since Atobe speaks well of other men, it leads me to believe he disrespects women. Other characters who were mean to girls were pretty much mean to EVERYBODY, so it seemed less targeted. (like Akutsu and Fukushi and Sasabe) I dunno, I read too much into manga characterizations ^^;;;;
