I bought doujinshi!

With TeniPuri we're sorta spoiled and yet jaded, because there's tons and tons of doujinshi, because the fandom is huge, but unless someone else has told you about it prior, you never know what you're going to get until you read it for yourself. And since some authors don't actually pay attention to the series except enough to draw some of the hott guys doing it, you can get some amazing OOC-ness.
But, wtih small fandoms? Pretty much if someone took time to draw a doujinshi, they love the fandom. So you tend to get greatness, or at least if someone's out of character it's justifiable.

On that note, I found an AWESOME Final Fantasy IX doujinshi! Pics under the cut, and some other stuff like the Atobe/Kamio above!

This is the jewel in the crown...
This is a cute story about Garnet hanging out with Zidane & Tantalus. There's also a mini-story about Stiltskin and Freya, and it's really cute, the whole thing! Beatrix is in it, too! But not very much. Also, Steiner isn't in it, or Baku. Which is odd, because that's my FFIX OTP, Baku/Steiner.

Look who all is in this book, though!
Blank! Marcus! Ruby! Ruby's kindof a main player in the story, actually. Aside from Zidane and Garnet. It's about them. Zidane tries to steal a kiss at one point but she gets mad XD

This is on the inside back cover!
Even Lani and Quina, who is a major player but gets no love because he/she is a strange thing!! On the back cover it says "Fanbook #10". I sure would like to have #1 thru #9, too! This one is called View, by Matsu Tomiito, circle Tommytoh.

And now for something completely different:
I don't even LIKE this ship really, but the art is uber-cute and I'm a sucka for cute things. The story, well... my opinion is they're both a bit OOC, more Kamio than Atobe, but I think to make this pairing work you have to make them somewhat OOC. Maybe a lot OOC for Kamio... But they're so cute that it's all good! (from Himitsu-iro by Satsuki Utsubushi)

OK check this out!!
Yamabuki love!! Altho, my opinion is that Sengoku is a LITTLE more devilish in these tales than he is canon, but maybe I'm just being too picky, and of course maybe my interpretation of the characters coincides with someone else's idea of OOC. The point of this one is that the art is really really cute!!

OK, listen. This is important... This is "Les Mise-Jackal"... that's what it says on the previous page! There's another story prior to this one featuring Rikkai in some story called "3mai no Sanada" but I have no idea what the original story they're poking fun at is supposed to be. This is from a doujinshi called "Dare-mo shiranai monogatari" by circle DOKURODAN.
Anyway, this? This is Les Mise-Jackal!
In case you can't read it, starring Jackal as Jean Valjean, Yukimura as Fantine, Sanada as Javert (this makes me happy), Yagyuu as Marius or whatever, Bunta as Cosette, and Renji as the bishop-d00d from Chapter 1. Akaya is also in it, but I dunno what role he's playing, because I only remember the bishop-dood from chapter 1 because I kept having to look up évêque even tho I'd just looked it up the page prior. I had to look it up just now, too, to show you the word I kept having to look up.
There's a lot of kanji, and it's a serious story. Of Les Miserables. But not the whole story. Inui's also in it, he is Renji's friend, and Akaya... he's hangin out with Sanada-Javert. And using a lot of kanji. Which I'm bad at. (It's OK, Akaya is bad at English. Payback.)

And now for a weird indulgence.
Remember I was talking of Akutsu-Minami pairings? I had to see how it was in a doujinshi, and this one is pretty good. Mainly because they're not like, holding hands or anything. Basically Minami is trying to get Akutsu to chew gum rather than smoke. OK story wise it's pretty weak, specially the ending, it sucked, but you know, it's pretty, and it's Yamabuki.

I think Akaya should be Eponine, because Akaya in a dress = wim.
I'm not insanedrop trou!

I know the art is awesome in both of those YB books!

That is the name of the book, il coltello a scatto et i limoni. I decided it means "it costs a poop and one lemon." because I don't know italian.

*channels her Strega Nonna*

I think it might mean "the knife to [something] the lemons"
The next part is "I abandon the [something] for the [something] of tennis."

Maybe.

I would have read that as "the knife has snapped and the lemons", based on my two years (i know) italian experience from way back in high school. And the second one, "I'm taking back my decision to leave the tennis circuit".

Don't pay me any attention.

What's the italian equivalent to engrish?

Les Miserables, yo. It looks like Jackal is Jean Valjean and Sanada is Javert.

Yeah , it's conceptually appropriate, even tho in the end it was too hard for me to read the whole thing XD

:O I think that is the very first FFIX doujinshi I've ever seen! (Garnet looks kind of like a shoujo-fied Tifa, though, lol). Blaaaaaank! <3

Les Miserables Tenipuri doujin! What hasn't this fandom brought us? *___* You're right, Tenipuri fandom does spoil us, whenever I go looking for doujinshi for anything else, I'm always despondent at the comparative lack of choice. :(

I think most of the FFIX doujinshi I've seen are from around the time the game was out, so it's been so long that they're not going through the used doujinshi cycle anymore. But this one is from 2004! And it's great. I hope to score the other 9 eventually.

Seeing them do Les Mis made me want to see other schools doing other great literary works... like St Rudolph does Crime & Punishment. Hyoutei does Wuthering Heights. It would be epic XD

That Yamabuki cover is so pretty!

Dan's outfit is win. Muromachi looks like a zombie, but I like it.

Yeah it's awesome, that cover! And yeah, Muromachi gets strangely colored a lot. So does Jackal. But it's overshadowed by the awesomeness of Yamabuki doujinshi XD
